Disney Customer Service FAQ- All Your Questions Answered

When you need to make sure all of your Disney questions are answered, sometimes the best place to go is directly to Disney Customer Service.

There are two main ways to connect to Disney Customer Service when not in Walt Disney World, through the online chat function and through the customer service numbers.

When speaking to Disney Customer Service, you are actually speaking to what Disney calls a cast member. The people you are connected with are Disney employees and Disney calls all of their employees cast members, they each play a role. Their main role is to assist you in any way possible.

Disney Cast Members are truly there to help you. I have never called Disney and talked to anyone rude. Whenever we have had questions about purchasing tickets or what room to book, the call has been quick and efficient. During busy times, the waits can be longer, but Disney Cast Members always make you feel like you are the number one priority when on the phone with you.

Having used both the phone and website chat functions for customer service, I can say that both options are great when you need to talk to Disney directly.

Disney Chat Function Customer Service

Sometimes the Live Chat Function is the quickest way to get in contact with a Disney Cast Member. During peak times, you will still have to wait.

You can live chat with a Cast Member on the Walt Disney World Resort website between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. EST each day.

To find the chat, look for a box with the icon on the right side of the screen. If the icon is grayed out, that just means all Cast Members are busy helping other Guests and will get to you as soon as they can.

While waiting to chat with a Cast Member your chat will stay open for you to use other tabs and complete other online tasks. Just be sure to keep the sound up so you can hear the alert when the invitation to chat appears.

Chat box on the Walt Disney Website

Once in the chat, ask the cast member any questions that you need answered. They can help with basic questions regarding reservations, tickets, Genie Plus, and more.

When my family had to attempt to get a refund on Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween tickets when a hurricane hit Florida in 2022, the Disney chat feature was great for us.

I was able to leave my laptop open waiting for the chat while completing other tasks instead of calling and waiting on hold for hours. Our cast member was able to give us credit for the tickets to be used at a later special event night due to the weather. The process was quick and easy to tell the cast member what we needed, answer a few questions, and get confirmation that everything was taken care of.

Calling Disney World Customer Service

Disney World has Cast Members to answer very specific Disney questions and general Disney questions. The Cast Members are extremely knowledgeable and go through training to be able to assist you with any of your Disney questions.

If a Cast Member does not know the answer or can’t help with the specific problem, they are quickly able to transfer you to the correct department.

The first tip if you want to call Disney Customer Services is to go ahead and set up your My Disney Experience Account ahead of time so that the Cast Member can quickly pull your information.

After having to cancel our family trip due to a hurricane, we had credit to use at a Disney Special Ticketed event. Calling the morning that Christmas Party Tickets were released, I expected to wait a long time. My wait to talk to a ticket representative was only about 15 minutes. I explained that I needed to apply the credit to the new tickets and then was able to pay over the phone the difference in the price. You can learn more about Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in our guide.

Just a short 10 minutes later, we had our tickets linked to our My Disney Experience account for the date that we wanted. The Cast Member was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire experience incredibly comfortable.

What are the hours for Disney Customer Service?

You can reach Disney Customer Support by calling 1-407-939-5277 between 7 AM and 11 PM ET, 7 days a week.

What is the average wait time for Disney’s Customer Service?

Call times for Disney Guest Relations vary quite a lot. There have been times we have waited just 15 minutes and other times it has been almost an hour. A few years ago, there were reports of people waiting 5 or 6 hours to talk to a representative. Luckily, that does not seem to be the case in 2024.

The best time to call Disney customer service is early morning or late evening, typically when call volume is lowest.

We also recommend contacting Disney during the week instead of the weekend.

What are peak calling times?

There are many times throughout the year that are considered peak calling times. During these times, waits can be hours or longer. It is not uncommon to wait for a customer service cast member for over an hour.

Peak Calling Times Include

New Package Releases
Hotel Discount Releases
Discount Packages and Ticket Deals
Release date for Special Ticket Events like Mickey’s Not So Scary or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Opening Dates Announced for New Rides or Attractions
Release of the schedule for EPCOT festivals
Inclement Weather in Florida (cancellations and refunds)
Run Disney Race Weekend Releases

Where is Customer Service/Guest Relations located at Disney World?

When visiting Walt Disney World, you can visit Customer Service or Guest Relations outside of each theme park, in each park, the two water parks, and Disney Springs.

To find Guest Relations, look for the blue tents located throughout the park. Outside of the parks, there is generally a building labeled for guest services. Disney Springs has a dedicated building for Guest Relations.

Hours of operation vary based on location. Each Guest Relations location is open during the normal operating hours for its park or complex.

Cast Members can assist with Genie Plus reservations, park maps, ride information, disability information, park maps in multiple languages, lost and found, and more.

How do I complain to Disney World?

Unfortunately, not everyone has a magical vacation every single time they visit Walt Disney World. If you are ever in a situation where a complaint is necessary, Disney has a few different ways to contact them.

One way to contact Disney is through the mail

Walt Disney World Guest Communications
P.O. Box 10,040
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040

Guests can also call Disney at (407) 939-5277 to file a complaint.

The last way is to visit one of the Guest Relation areas on property to have your issue handled by a Cast Member for Disney World customer service.

Most Cast Members are incredibly accommodating when the issue is explained calmly and with all of the information. It is important that even when filing a complaint to understand that the Cast Members at Guest Relations will do what is in their power to help, but also have limitations.

How do I provide a Cast Compliment?

There are also many times that Cast Members in the park go above and beyond to make your experience magical. You can also submit a Cast Compliment so the Cast Member can be recognized by Disney for their awesome work.

You are able to submit a Cast Compliment on the Disney World App. When logged in, click the 3 lines on the right side of your screen. Scroll all the way to the bottom and the 2nd to last option is Cast Compliments.

Here you will be able to choose the reason for the compliment, the location of the excellent service, and if available the name and hometown of the cast member as well as the date the interaction occurred.

For a more detailed and personal Cast Compliment, you can also email wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com with the information you would like to share about your experience with Disney World customer service,

What can I expect when calling or chatting with a Disney Cast Member?

When calling Disney World Customer Service or speaking with a Guest Relations Cast Member, you will almost always have a pleasant experience.

Disney trains the Cast Members through a rigorous Disney World Customer Service course. A course that they also offer to the public, so it is expected that every interaction is handled promptly and appropriately. Disney is known for its attention to detail including its Customer Service Cast Members.

There will be times, however, when your question may not be able to be answered by certain Cast Members and you may be transferred, or have to wait on hold a few times. Sometimes the call will get disconnected and since Disney Customer Service cannot call you back, you will have to call again.

As with many companies, the goal for Disney World customer service is to solve your problems and answer your questions so that you can not only have a quick response to a need, but a magical vacation.
