Super Nintendo World is opening soon at Universal Studios Hollywood and will be the first one to debut in the United States. The first Super Nintendo World is currently open in Universal Studios Japan.
Guests will be transported into the Nintendo World of Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach inside the Mushroom Kingdom plus get the chance to experience what's like to be inside a Mario Kart race!

Super Nintendo World Opening Date 2023
Super Nintendo World is coming to both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando. The Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood will be the first to open in early 2023.Â
The Universal Studios Hollywood Super Nintendo World will open on February 17, 2023. The attraction will open just after the kickoff of the Disney100 celebration at Disneyland and opening of Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. This Spring will be a great time to plan a trip to SoCal for the theme parks.

Universal Orlando‘s Nintendo World (Land?) will be one of four lands in their new theme park Epic Universe which is currently expected to open sometime in 2025. There hasn't been much news yet about Super Nintendo World in Universal Orlando but it is like going to mirror the size of the currently open Super Nintendo World in Japan. The Super Nintendo World in Japan features three attractions including Donkey Kong and Yoshi themed attractions.

Super Nintendo World 
Super Nintendo World is based around the iconic Mario games based in the Mushroom Kingdom featuring Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach. Guests will be traveling via Warp Pipe to enter the land once it opens.
When the land opens it will feature the new groundbreaking ride “Mario Kart; Bowser's Challenge” inside Bowser's Castle which is said to be one of the most complex rides ever built within the entertainment industry.
Super Nintendo World seeks to be an immersive experience with interactive areas for all ages plus themed shopping and dining. Super Nintendo World in Japan features a variety of character meet options like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad that we will likely see come to Universal Studios Hollywood.
This new area will be targeted at guests of all ages regardless of gaming experience level so Super Nintendo World will be an experience everyone can enjoy.
Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge
The big hit of Super Nintendo World is the new ride Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge which is a “multi-dimensional experience that recreates iconic environments from the Mario Kart games and where no two races are alike.” The ride is meant to be repeatable with a variety of outcomes making it a great fit for the area since Universal Studios Hollywood is more limited on space than Universal Orlando so this may be the only attraction in this land.
One of the key aspects that sets apart Mario Kart: Bowser's attraction from other theme park attractions is the use of head mounted augmented reality (AR) goggles to create a multi-sensory experience of color, sound and movement. Guests will enter Bowser's Castle to ride the attraction and board from within the depths of the dungeon! After boarding stadium-style, four-seat Mario Kart vehicles inspired by the video game, guests will put on their AR goggles and begin to race after receiving the signal from Lakitu.
This ride is meant for guests of all ages according to Universal so this likely means there will be no height requirement. Guests will steer through courses underwater and in the clouds to compete for the Golden Cup while collecting coins to defeat Team Bowser.

Super Nintendo World Merchandise Available Now
For guests counting down until Super Nintendo World opens, there are already three places to purchase merchandise at Universal Studios Hollywood. There are two options inside the theme park and one at City Walk.
- Feature Presentation retail store inside Universal- this location is well stocked with new merchandise featuring Mario and Luigi apparel and iconic character hats and plush characters such as Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Bowser.
- Character Shop on the Lower Lot- exclusive merchandise featuring collectibles, apparel, and more.
- Super Nintendo World Store on City Walk- accessible to guests outside the theme park, Nintendo fans can stock up on all merchandise for Super Nintendo World. This fully-themed store includes a huge variety of merchandise.
All of this merchandise will be available inside the land once it opens but it's likely some of it will remain available in these locations.
