Which Disney World Hotels Have Suites For Five or More?

Standard hotel rooms generally sleep four people or less. However, it’s not uncommon for a large family or group of people to want to experience Disney World together. What happens when you’re traveling with a group of five or more people? Which Disney World hotels have suites?

You could always book enough rooms to fit everyone in your party. That can easily become costly though. Plus, you want to enjoy your vacation together! Splitting up whenever you want to enjoy time at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel is not always ideal.

Does Disney World have options that would allow your larger group to stay together? Are there options that would allow everyone to fit, sleep, and comfortably co-exist together for your length of stay? Luckily, the answer is yes!

Disney actually has a few different options for groups of five or more. As someone who vacations to Walt Disney World frequently, I have quite a bit of experience staying in these Disney World hotel suites that accommodate larger parties. My personal vacation party generally consists of 6 family members. Almost every time we vacation together at Disney World, we stay together rather than booking multiple rooms.

In this article, I’m going to go over the different rooming options that are available for groups of five or more. I will also specify which Disney World hotels have these options and suites. Let’s take a look and see everything that’s available for your group’s next magical vacation for Disney World hotel suites.

Disney World Hotels- Groups of Five

There are a variety of room and suite arrangements that can fit five or more Guests at Walt Disney World. The one that will work best for you will depend on how many people are in your party, what type of room you’re interested in, and which resort you prefer. The hotels that house these accommodating options spread across all of the resort categories: Value, Moderate, and Deluxe. Within these hotels, you’ll find Family Suites, Fifth Sleepers, Cabins, Deluxe Studios, and Villas. All of which fit five or more Guests.

Family Suites

Finding Nemo Family Suite

If you’re keeping a budget in mind, Family Suites at Disney World may be a great option for you! These suites can be found at two Disney World hotels in the Value Resort category: Disney’s All-Star Music Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. If you’re needing a room for more than five people and don’t want to break the bank, then look no further!

Family Suites sleep up to 6 Guests. At All-Star Music, the Family Suites have 1 Queen Bed and 2 Queen-Size Pull Down Beds. Art of Animation’s Family Suites have 1 Queen Bed, 1 Double-Size Sleeper Sofa, and 1 Double-Size Table Bed. Additionally, Family Suites have two restrooms (with showers), a living area, dining area, and a kitchenette.

My family and I stay in these family suites often. Our vacation party consists of my husband and myself, our two children, and my parents. We all comfortably co-exist in these family suites and have never had an issue. During one of our stays at the Art of Animation Family Suites, a hurricane came through Florida that closed Disney down and forced us into a multi-day lockdown in our room. Even under the stressful circumstances, we never felt crowded or in each other’s way in our Family Suuite.

5th Sleeper

Port Orleans Riverside Fifth Sleeper

In the Moderate Resort category, you’ll find two Disney World hotels that offer 5th Sleeper rooms. These rooms are similar to a standard 2 Queen Bedroom, but they are also equipped with a Child-Size Pull-Down Bed. Sometimes this extra little bed is the only addition a group needs to all fit in a room together!

You’ll find 5th Sleeper rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. While the Child-Size Pull-Down bed is a beneficial addition, they’re also a cute addition! When you pull the bed down, there is Disney artwork that is themed to the resort that you’re staying at. On our most recent stay at Disney World, we stayed in a 5th Sleeper room at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. To keep with the theme of Princess and the Frog, the artwork in our 5th Sleeper was of Louis the Alligator!

Other Resorts with a “5th Sleeper”

As I mentioned earlier, standard rooms generally sleep up to 4 Guests. However, there are standard room options at all of the Deluxe Resorts (except Animal Kingdom Lodge) that can sleep at least 5 Adults. There are actually two options for these base rooms. The first one will sleep 5 Adults and have 2 Queen Beds and 1 Daybed. The second option, a Deluxe Room, is able to Sleep 6 Adults and will have 2 Queen beds and 1 Sleeper Sofa.

Since Animal Kingdom Lodge is the only Deluxe Resort that cannot sleep 5 or more Guests in a standard room, these are the Deluxe Resorts that can sleep 5 or more in a standard room.

  • Disney's Beach Club Resort
  • Disney's BoardWalk Inn
  • Disney's Contemporary Resort
  • Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
  • Disney's Wilderness Lodge
  • Disney's Yacht Club

Cabins

Fort Wilderness Cabin

If you and your group are looking to stay in the great outdoors, there are multiple cabin options for parties of 5 or more! While you won’t exactly be “roughing it” in these cabins, you will still be able to enjoy the calm and beauty of the nature around you as well as take part in fun recreational activities at your resort!

There are two resorts where you can find cabins at Walt Disney World. In the Moderate Resort category, there are The Cabins at Fort Wilderness. These cabins can sleep up to 6 Adults. The bed arrangements in these cabins include 1 Queen Bed, 1 Double-Size Sleeper Sofa, and 1 Bunk Bed. Another thing that you’ll find in these cabins are full kitchens! This is an especially nice perk when it comes to feeding your larger group.

You’ll also find cabins in the Deluxe category at the Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Wilderness Lodge. These 2 Bedroom cabins can sleep up to 8 Adults. In these cabins, the bed arrangements include 1 King Bed, 1 Queen Bed, 1 Queen-Size Sleeper Sofa, 1 Single Pull-Down Bed, and 1 Twin-Size Sleeper Chair. Additionally, there is a full kitchen, living area, dining area, two full bathrooms, a washer and dryer, and a porch. To top it all off, there’s a hot tub on the porch!

Deluxe Studios

Riviera Resort Deluxe Studio

Another room option for five Guests are Deluxe Studios. These studios can be found in the Deluxe Resort category at Deluxe Villa Resorts. Deluxe Studios can sleep 4-5 Guests, depending on the resort. The Deluxe Studios that can sleep 5 Guests include 1 Queen Bed, 1 Double-Size Sleeper Sofa, and 1 Single Pull-Down Bed. In Deluxe Studios, you’ll also find a kitchenette! While not a full kitchen, a kitchenette allows you to safely store and reheat food. Generally, a kitchenette includes a microwave, toaster, mini refrigerator, a toaster, coffee maker, and sink.

The Resorts with Deluxe Studios that CAN sleep 5 Guests are:

  • Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Disney’s Beach Club Villas
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
  • Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
  • Disney’s Riviera Resort
  • The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Deluxe Villas

Saratoga Springs Villa

The most luxurious option, and also the option that can fit the most Guests, are Deluxe Villas. These villas also provide the most home-like living arrangements. A Deluxe Villa includes private bedrooms, a washer and dryer, as well as a full kitchen. Many also have multiple bathrooms. However, this is dependent on how many bedrooms are in your villa as well as which resort you’re staying at.

When you stay at a Deluxe Villa, you can choose to have a 1, 2, or 3 Bedroom Villa. Depending on the number of bedrooms as well as the resort, Deluxe Villas can sleep 4-12 Guests. That means that not all of these Deluxe Villas can sleep 5 Guests in their 1 Bedroom Villas.

The Deluxe Villas that CAN sleep 5 Guests in their 1 Bedroom Villas are:

  • Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
  • Disney’s Old Key West Resort
  • Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows
  • Disney’s Riviera Resort
  • Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
  • The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Of course, these Deluxe Resorts can also sleep five or more Guests in their 2 and 3 Bedroom Villas as well. Some even offer additional options! At Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows, you can stay in a waterside bungalow that sleeps 8 Guests. The bed arrangements in these bungalows are 1 King Bed, 1 Queen Bed, 1 Queen-Size Pull-Down Bed, and 2 Single Pull-Down Beds. Over at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, you can opt for one of their Treehouse Villas! These Treehouse Villas sleep 9 Guests and include 2 Queen Beds, 1 Queen-Size Sleeper Sofa, 1 Bunk Bed, and 1 Twin-Size Sleeper Chair.

While these resorts can’t sleep five Guests in their 1 Bedroom Villas, they can accommodate five or more Guests in their 2 and 3 Bedroom Villas. These Deluxe Villas Include:

  • Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Disney’s Beach Club Villas

Disney Vacation Club – Disney World Hotel Suites

Disney Vacation Club information stand

Many of these Disney World hotels with suites that accommodate five or more guests are Disney Vacation Club Resorts. If you’re not familiar with Disney Vacation Club, it is essentially Disney’s version of a timeshare program. Guests who join Disney Vacation Club (also referred to as DVC) are able to vacation to Disney Destinations year after year in a more cost effective way.

To become a member, you will purchase a real estate interest, via the timeshare, from Disney Vacation Club. The real estate interest that you purchase will be for a specific resort of your choice. This resort will become your “Home Resort”.

When you become a member, you will receive Vacation Points that you will use towards your resort stay. You will receive these Vacation Points annually. However, if you decide that you won’t be taking a Disney vacation during a particular year, you won’t lose your points! They will simply roll over to the next year and start accumulating. The act of accumulating your points is often called “banking points”.

Referring back to your Home Resort, even though you have a specific resort in which you own real estate interest, that doesn’t mean that you have to stay at only that resort. You can stay at any DVC Resort with your points. When you have banked points, you can use these additional points to stay at resorts that require more points or use them to stay for longer periods of time.

DVC Resorts

Animal Kingdom Lodge sitting area

As I said earlier, many of the Disney World hotels that were discussed that accommodate five or more Guests are DVC Resorts. Those resorts are:

  • Bay Lake Tower
  • Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
  • Disney’s Beach Club Villas
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
  • Disney’s Old Key West Resort
  • Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
  • Disney’s Riviera Resort
  • Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
  • The Cabins at Fort Wilderness NEW!
  • The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Rest assured, if you’re not ready to take the plunge and become a DVC Member, you can still stay at these resorts! You do not need to be a DVC Member to stay at a DVC Resort. That being said, since these are more expensive resorts, if you are not a DVC Member, the price of booking these resorts can be costly. Luckily, we have a solution for you if you want to use this option for your Disney World hotels with suites.

Renting DVC Points

Disney Vacation Club sign

Remember when I said that DVC Members can bank their points if they don’t plan on using them? Sometimes, rather than banking those points, DVC Members choose to sell them instead! When they do this, it gives non-DVC Members an opportunity to stay at DVC Resorts for a much lower price than booking those resorts directly through Disney.

How It Works

When DVC Members decide to sell their points, you can purchase them from a DVC rental site. Normally you can get points for less than what the DVC Member initially paid for them. This is a great way to save tons of money on stays at DVC Resorts.

The first thing you’ll need to do is choose a DVC rental site. While there are many options available, we highly recommend our partners at DVC Rental Store or David’s DVC Rental. Both of these companies are well-known, trusted, and experienced. Either one is a great option for securing DVC Points! After choosing a DVC rental site, you’ll be able to browse listings of points that are being sold by DVC Members.

DVC Point Rental Process:

  • Pick a Listing – The first step in the point rental process is picking a listing. If you already have an idea of which resort you’d like to stay at and when you’d like to travel, that will make the process of picking a listing easier. Once you do that, you’ll simply browse all of the available listings.
  • Submit a Request – After you find a listing that interests you, you’ll submit a request form for that listing. When you submit this form, you’ll make a partial payment, or deposit, of the resort total.
  • Fulfillment – If your request is able to be booked, you will receive a confirmation of your DVC Resort stay and you will then need to sign a rental agreement and make an additional payment. (The amount due at this time varies based on which DVC rental site you choose to use. More often than not, the full balance is due at the time of confirmation. However, sometimes, only a percentage is due. This is something to consider when deciding on which DVC rental site to use.) If your request was not able to be booked, you will have the opportunity to choose another listing. If there's not another one that you are interested in, you will receive your initial deposit back.
  • After Confirmation – After you have a confirmed booking and you’ve made all of the necessary payments and signed the required documents, you will be able to treat your DVC Resort booking like a regular Disney World vacation! You’ll be able to enter and view your resort information on your My Disney Experience account. Afterwards, you'll have the opportunity to purchase theme park tickets, a dining plan, and Memory Maker!
