Walt Disney World Rider SwitchHollywood Studios- Walt Disney World Height Requirements

Rider switch is a great way for parents/caregivers to still experience attractions even if their children do not meet the height requirements. One adult can wait with the child/non-rider while the rest of the party rides. When the other adult returns, they switch spots and the other adult rides the attraction without having to wait in line again.

How to use Rider Switch at Walt Disney World

  1. Once at the attraction, approach the greeting Cast Member with your entire party. At least one adult member of your party and the Guests who are not riding will be issued a Ride Switch entitlement by the Cast Member and asked to wait in a designated area (usually outside of the attraction). This group is “Party 2.”
  2. The other party members (“Party 1”) ride the attraction.
  3. After riding the attraction, Party 1 locates Party 2. Then, Party 1 takes over supervision of the non-riding children or Guests.
  4. Party 2 enters and boards the attraction without having to wait in the regular queue a second time. The Rider Switch entitlement must be validated by a Cast Member at this time.
  5. Please note that if the person in party 2 waited alone with the child or non-riding Guest, one Guest may join the person that waited alone.

Walt Disney World Single RiderHaunted Mansion- Walt Disney World Height Requirements

Single rider is an option used at Walt Disney World for cast members to fill seats left open by parties that do not completely fill ride vehicles. Rather than send off a ride vehicle that can seat four with only three people seated, the cast member would fill that fourth seat with a guest from the single rider line.

It's important to understand that if you decide to wait in the single rider line you will not be seated with your party unless it happens by chance. You will be separated in this line- that's the purpose of it as a way to fill empty seats. But then you get to ride popular attractions with a much shorter wait time than the regular standby line!

Here are the attractions that offer single rider options Walt Disney World:

  • Test Track- Epcot
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith- Hollywood Studios
  • Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain- Animal Kingdom
  • Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run- Hollywood Studios

Single rider can be a great way to save time on your trip and avoid longer lines if you don't mind being split up from your group!
