8 Magical Pictures of Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle

Sleeping Beauty Castle has had a few different looks since Disneyland's opening day in 1955. Every year around Christmas the castle gets a beautiful overlay to match the magic of the holiday season. We also saw a large addition of diamonds to the castle in honor of Disneyland's Diamond Celebration anniversary. But as part of Project Stardust, Kim Irvine and the rest of the team began refreshing Disneyland's most beloved symbol with a loving refurbishment.

Sleeping Beauty Castle is set to be open to the public next week and many are counting down the days to see the beautiful new colors up close. In addition to replacing the castle's roof, the design team made the colors brighter and added some pixie dust ‘sparkles' to the roof. For fans that think the blue hues are too dark, keep in mind that the colors will begin to fade in the California sun.
