Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a Pirates Life for Me. Those lines have echoed the halls of the Pirates of the Carribean for over 45 years. Pirates of the Carribean turns 45 this Sunday, the 18th. The attraction opened to enormous guest response on 1967.
Since the attraction's opening movies, and replicas of the ride have been created by the Walt Disney Imagineers all over the world in every Magic Kingdom park except Hong Kong Disneyland.
There are Pirate Attractions in
- Disneyland Paris
- Tokyo Disneyland
- Disneyland Anaheim
- Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World
While the attraction is located in different lands in each park, the ride follows the same plot, but the way that the story is carried out is slightly different in every park.
The main variant is the back story for the attraction. In Anaheim the pirates live in New Orleans, in the Magic Kingdom in El Castillo, in Tokyo Disneyland in a Spanish fort, and in Disneyland Paris in a castle.
Sadly Disney isn't celebrating this anniversary with any new merchandise or events, but I will be celebrating it.
