The countdown is on as the return of Disneyland's beloved nighttime spectacular Fantasmic! is just a few short days away. After the tragic incident last year when the Maleficent dragon caught on fire, the show has been closed for over a year, and fans have been wondering what will replace the iconic scene.
Ahead of Fantasmic!'s highly anticipated return on Friday, Disney has now shared more details about some of the new changes that will be coming to the show. Keep reading for a look at what you can expect, including new characters that will be joining a scene when the show returns!
Fantasmic! Reimagined Battle Scene and New Characters
Disney previously shared that when Fantasmic! returns to the Rivers of America, it will feature a reimagined battle scene between Sorcerer Mickey and Maleficent as well as the return of the classic Peter Pan scene replacing the Pirates of the Caribbean scene. Now, Disney has released more details on these two scenes!
The reimagined battle scene between Mickey and Maleficent will feature Maleficent ascending to 35 feet in the air with her scepter in hand as she ignites the Rivers of America in flames.
