During my years of movie going I have always walked out of the theater with thoughts about what I had just seen swirling through my head. Recently, I walked out of our local Century theater after seeing Iron Man 3 with awesome thoughts rolling through my head, but not only did I have Marvel thoughts in my head, I wanted more. Upcoming this year is Thor 2: The Dark World and in the beginning of 2014 is Captain America: The Winter Solider. But, I needed even more great Marvel features, preferably featuring S.H.E.I.L.D., my favorite fictitious spy agency even topping the Men in Black.
(For a quick interjection, one of our writers, Dr. Disnology recently wrote an article about three books that would help Disney fans understand what Marvel is and why it is such a good companion to Disney.)
Today, the first trailer for the “Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D.” surfaced online and it looks like it will fill my need for more Marvel.
The new series will feature……(Someone in the room yells S.H.E.I.L.D.!)….that's right. The series will star Agent Phil Coulson, played by Clark Gregg. The series is being written and directed by Josh Whedon, the famed writer-director of last year's gargantuan success, “The Avengers.” The interesting part about the series is that Agent Phil Coulson, the star of the new show, died in “The Avengers”(or so we think?). Whedon promises a unique comeback from Agent Coulson and a great series. Without further ado, here is the video preview.
No information about when the show will premiere or what the format will be, but the assumption is that it will premiere sometime this year and will be an hour-long blockbuster weekly event, building with the anticipation of the first season of “Once Upon a Time” on ABC.
I am really looking forward to this big budget “Avengers” themed TV show.
