Disneyland Single Rider
Single rider is an option used at Disneyland for cast members to fill seats left open by parties that do not completely fill ride vehicles. Rather than send off a ride vehicle that can seat four with only three people seated, the cast member would fill that fourth seat with a guest from the single rider line.
It's important to understand that if you decide to wait in the single rider line you will not be seated with your party unless it happens by chance. You will be separated in this line- that's the purpose of it as a way to fill empty seats. But then you get to ride popular attractions with a much shorter wait time than the regular standby line!
Here are the attractions that offer single rider options Disneyland:
- Radiator Springs Racers
- Incredicoaster
- Goofy's Sky School
- Grizzly River Run
- Space Mountain
- Splash Mountain
- Indiana Jones Adventure
- Matterhorn Bobsleds
- Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run
- WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure
Single rider can be a great way to save time on your trip and avoid longer lines if you don't mind being split up from your group!
Disneyland Rider Switch
Rider switch is a great way for parents/caregivers to still experience attractions even if their children do not meet the height requirements. One adult can wait with the child/non-rider while the rest of the party rides. When the other adult returns, they switch spots and the other adult rides the attraction without having to wait in line again.
- First check with a Cast Member to see if Rider Switch is offered at the attraction you’d like to experience.
- Upon arriving at the selected attraction, approach the greeting Cast Member with your entire group. Members will be divided into 2 parties—“Party 1” includes those riding the attraction first, while “Party 2” consists of non-riders and their supervising Guests.
- The supervising Guests of Party 2—which can include a maximum of 3 people— will have their admission media/tickets scanned and must wait in the designated area—usually outside the attraction—while Party 1 waits in line to experience the attraction.
- After Party 1 experiences the attraction, they’ll assume supervision of the non-riding Guests.
- The supervising Guests of Party 2 should then return to the appropriate attraction entrance (e.g., attraction exit) to have their admission media/tickets re-scanned by a Cast Member for the Rider Switch entitlement. At this point, Party 2 may enter the appropriate attraction return line and board without waiting in the regular queue.
