A popular Disney California Adventure thrill ride is in the spotlight this week as guests recently had to be evacuated off of the park's main roller coaster after being stuck on the tracks.
The Incredicoaster is one of our favorite rides that takes guests on a wild chase after Jack-Jack as he escapes. This is one of the best Disneyland roller coasters at the resort featuring a thrilling 0-55 mph launch and the highest top speed of any ride at the parks.
On Sunday, 20 riders on the Incredicoaster were stuck after the ride experienced difficulties and stopped. The Incredicoaster is one of the Disneyland rides that recently underwent refurbishment and was closed for a period in April, during which time its signature loop was temporarily removed for work.

According to USA TODAY, a Disney official said the riders were stuck on the tracks for about 30 minutes and were given shade and water as they waited in the summer heat. After being stuck on the ride for some time, the guests were eventually evacuated. However, a report from NBC Los Angeles claims that the guests were stuck for over an hour. The Disneyland official said that this type of incident was “completely standard downtime and evacuation for this attraction” according to USA TODAY.
The cause of the ride breakdown is unknown, but another happened just the day before as shown in a Facebook live video shared by Vince Crandon. In the video, you can see the guests stuck in the sun with umbrellas, and the riders are eventually evacuated and go down the stairs to exit the attraction. Crandon reported to NBC Los Angeles that the riders were stuck for about 20-30 minutes, a similar time to what the Disneyland official shared it took to evacuate the guests during the incident on Sunday. While ride evacuations happen at attractions across the parks, it makes sense that a ride evacuation from a bigger outdoor rollercoaster would garner more attention, especially given that getting off of this ride is a more complicated process than for others.
