Disney World Kitchenettes

Not only is having a kitchen in your hotel room a money saving opportunity, it can also be a great convenience for your trip. Sometimes Disney vacations can become hectic. Even in regards to eating. By having your own kitchen, you can easily cut out a morning rush. Instead of trying to get everyone up, ready, and to a dining location to eat before your day begins, you can all eat at your own pace before heading out! Your kitchen can also be very beneficial at the end of the day. Sometimes your Disney Day may run late into the evening. When you arrive back at your resort, the dining locations may be closed! By having your own kitchen, this won’t be a problem at all. You’ll always have an option to eat no matter what time of day it is!

A kitchen can also be a big perk for those who have special dietary needs. While Disney is very accommodating to Guests with allergies or those who are plant-based eaters, that still may not fit your specific diet. With your own kitchen, you’ll be able to cook and store your own diet accommodating foods!

There are two different types of kitchens that are available in Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Depending on which room type you have, you may have a kitchenette or a full kitchen. Kitchenettes are available at certain resorts with Family Suites and at resorts with Deluxe Studios. The Family Suites with kitchenettes are found a particular Value Resort and sleep up to 6 Guests. Deluxe Studios are found at Deluxe Resorts and can sleep 4 to 5 Guests. I will more specifically go over which resorts have these kitchenettes a little later on in this article!

Kitchenettes clearly aren’t full kitchens. So what are they exactly? The kitchenette will only take up a small portion of your room, but it will include enough items to safely and properly store and heat up food. In the kitchenette, you will find a microwave, refrigerator, toaster, sink, and coffee maker. You will also find additional items in the area such as coffee, tea, creamer, sugar, an ice bucket, and cups!

While you won’t be preparing full meals in a kitchenette, you’ll still be able to prepare simple dishes and heat up items that you may have brought back to your resort as leftovers.

Disney World Full Kitchens

Full kitchens won’t be found at any of the Disney Value Resorts. You will, however, be able to find these kitchens at cabins in the Moderate Resort category as well as in Deluxe Villas. The cabins can sleep up to 6 Guests. Villas are made up of 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms and can sleep anywhere from 4 to 12 Guests, depending on the resort. Again, I will specifically go over which resorts have full kitchens in just a moment.

In a full kitchen, you’ll find an oven with a stove top, microwave, full refrigerator with a freezer, a double-sided sink, coffee maker, dishwasher, and a toaster. Throughout the kitchen, you will also find useful kitchen items such as towels, dining ware, and select cookware.

Which Disney World Hotels Have Kitchens?

Now that we’ve gone over the different kitchen types, let’s take a look at which Walt Disney World Resort hotels have them!

Value Resorts

There are two Disney World hotels in the Value Resort category that have kitchenettes. At both of these resorts, the kitchenettes are located in the Family Suites. These Family Suites are a great option for larger families. Sleeping up to 6 Guests, they are a great alternative to booking two rooms for your party. In a Family Suite, you will find a private bedroom that includes a Queen size bed, restroom with a shower and television. The living area includes another restroom with a shower, the kitchenette, a dining area, as well as a space to sit and watch television. There are two additional beds in this living area that pull down or fold out (depending on the resort).

Disney's All-Star Music Resort

All-Star Music is a part of the Disney All-Star Resort family. These neighboring resorts include All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, and All-Star Sports. These Value Resorts are by far the most affordable hotels on Walt Disney World property.

At All-Star Music, you’ll be surrounded by some of the most popular music genres. The different hotel buildings are themed to Country, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Jazz, Calypso, and Broadway-style music. Even the pools are music themed! The main pool is in the Calypso area and rightfully referred to as the Calypso Pool. This pool is shaped like a guitar and features a Three Caballeros fountain! The second pool, called the Piano Pool, is smaller and shaped like a grand piano. You’ll find this pool at a convenient location between the Country, Jazz, Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Broadway buildings.

The Family Suites are located in the Calypso and Jazz buildings. This is also where you will find the kitchenettes. While the kitchen in the All-Star Music Family Suites is considered a kitchenette, they are actually larger than the ones at our next resort and could almost be considered a half kitchen. Instead of a mini refrigerator, they have a full-size refrigerator with a freezer. They also offer up more countertop and cupboard space than the other kitchenettes.

Disney's Art of Animation Resort

Disney’s Art of Animation immerses you into the world of popular Disney and Pixar films. While you explore the resort, you’ll see different stages of these films like you’ve never seen before. In the main hall, you’ll see early sketches and designs of characters. You’ll be able to see the progression from first ideas all the way up to the finished product. There’s even a chandelier light fixture that features sketches! The dining hall features memorable landscapes from different films. As you head to your room, you’ll finally find yourself in the movie!

With areas themed to The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Cars, these areas come to life with larger than life statues and detailed settings. For the Family Suites, you’ll need to head to the Pride Lands, Radiator Springs, or Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Unfortunately, The Little Mermaid section only has standard rooms which do not have a kitchen area.

Moderate Resorts

Only one Disney World hotel in the Moderate Resort category features a kitchen. Luckily, it’s a full kitchen!

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort

When you vacation in a Cabin at Disney’s Fort Wilderness, you will be able to enjoy all of the pleasures of the great outdoors, while still living comfortably! These cabins are fully furnished and can comfortably sleep up to 6 Adults. There is also plenty of living space and room to relax. Besides the full kitchen, you will also have a living room, bedroom, full bathroom, private patio, and a charcoal grill.

Your cabin is nestled in a 750 acre forest and is completely private to your party! Don’t worry. While this is a big area, golf carts are available for rent to help you get around. If you’d like to make your cabin feel more like home, you can decorate it! (Just make sure that you follow the decorating guidelines!) 

As I mentioned earlier, when you’re staying at Fort Wilderness, you have a chance to truly enjoy the outdoors! So many recreational activities are available for you to do. This includes fishing, pony rides, wagon rides, carriage rides, archery, bike rental, canoe and kayak rentals, pools, and trails to explore. In the evening, you can even enjoy a campfire sing-along with Chip and Dale! Don’t forget to grab the necessities to make some delicious s’mores while you’re there!

Deluxe Resorts and Villas

We’ve now reached the point of the list where kitchens are heavily available! All of the Disney World hotels in the Deluxe Resort category have kitchen options available. At each of these resorts, you will be able to stay at either a Deluxe Studio with a kitchenette or a Villa with a full kitchen. As a refresher, Deluxe Studios can sleep up to 4 or 5 Guests, depending on the resort. With the choice of 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms (also dependent on resort location), Villas can sleep 4-12 Guests.

Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort

One of Disney World’s most notable Deluxe Resorts is the Contemporary Resort. Known for its unique shape, monorail access, and close location to Magic Kingdom, it’s no surprise that Guests would want more! That’s exactly what Disney gave us with Bay Lake Tower. As an extension of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Bay Lake Tower gives us the same luxuries with a modern look.

Bay Lake Tower is connected by a bridge walkway to the Contemporary Resort. This Tower hotel is beautifully positioned next to Bay Lake. From your room, you may enjoy views of the lake, courtyard, or even views of Magic Kingdom! Yes, including Cinderella’s Castle! You can’t beat enjoying beautiful fireworks from the privacy of your own room!

With the Contemporary Resort being in such close proximity, you can easily head over there to enjoy a meal at California Grill or Steakhouse 71, a snack from Contempo Café, or even a character dining experience with your favorite pals at Chef Mickey’s! Not only can you enjoy amazing food, you can also enjoy fun recreational activities on Bay Lake. Head out on the lake with your motorized boat rental, on a bass fishing excursion, or catch the Electrical Water Pageant in the evening!

Boulder Ridge Villas and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge provides Guests with a rustic, yet chic, experience not far from the magic. Just a quick boat ride away from Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge brings comfort with a pioneering twist.

The beautiful theming of this Disney World hotel is very much inspired by the Pacific Northwest. Even the dining reflects these inspirations! Speaking of dining, don’t miss your chance to dine with characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! Storybook Dining at Artist Point gives you the rare opportunity to dine with Dopey, Grumpy, and of course, Snow White!

There are two beautiful pools at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge: Boulder Ridge Cove Pool and Copper Creek Springs Pool. Both of these pools are surrounded by picturesque landscaping. The Copper Creek Springs Pool begins in the lobby of Copper Creek. That’s right! In the lobby you’ll find a bubbling spring. This spring runs through the lobby, under a window wall, and then falls down into the Copper Creek Springs Pool as a magnificent waterfall! At this pool, you’ll also find a 67-foot water slide.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House and Kidani Village

The Animal Kingdom Villas are located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. At this Disney World hotel, you’ll feel like you actually ventured to Africa! The architectural style of the buildings, and even the shape that they’re in, are directly inspired by Africa. While you’re here, you can also enjoy African cuisine! To experience many different foods, stop by Boma – Flavors of Africa and enjoy a buffet at breakfast or dinner. For a more sophisticated atmosphere, consider dining at Jiko – The Cooking Place for a delightful dinner. If you’d like to enjoy your meal with a view, stop by Sanaa for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and enjoy views of Sunset Savanna while you eat!

Yes, you read that correctly. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, there are savannas where you can watch exotic animals roaming freely. There’s actually four savannas in total which are home to over 200 hoofed animals and birds. This includes zebras, giraffes, gazelles, ostriches, wildebeest, and flamingos. While you can see these animals during the day, don’t miss out on Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Starlight Safari! During this immersive safari, you’ll be able to experience these animals after dark when they are often more lively! This expedition takes place on an open-air vehicle. You will be provided with a night vision device to make sure you can see the animals and all that they’re up to!

Disney's Beach Club Villas

This Disney World hotel is modeled after a New England-style beach hotel. You’ll definitely feel the beach vibe with all of the activities that are available! Set sail on Crescent Lake when you rent a motorized boat from Bayside Marina. You also have the opportunity for a bass fishing excursion here! However, that’s not all. Little ones have the opportunity to test their sea legs too! Children ages 4 to 12 can take part on a Pirate Adventure Cruise! During this cruise, your little pirates will follow clues that lead them to hidden treasure!

That pirate ship isn’t the only one that you’ll see at this resort! A life-size shipwreck is located at Stormalong Bay. This is a 3-acre water paradise that includes pools, lagoons, a waterslide, lazy river, and whirlpool spas! There’s also an area specifically made for younger, less experienced, swimmers to splash around in. If you’re looking to darken your tan, don’t miss your chance to lay out in the sun on the elevated tanning deck!

Disney's Beach Club Villas also have very convenient theme park access. This resort is a short walk from EPCOT, a boat ride from Hollywood Studios, or you can use the Skyliner to access either one of those parks!

Disney's BoardWalk Villas

At these villas, you not only get the great benefits of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you also get to enjoy the charms of a real boardwalk! At Disney’s BoardWalk, you’ll be able to snack, dine, shop, and enjoy entertainment!

To further enjoy the views of this lakefront resort, you could rent a surrey bike! These bikes are made to seat 2-4 Guests and provide you with a fun way to see the sights of this beautiful resort.

Water fun can be had at Luna Pool. At this pool you’ll find a 200-foot-long water slide, whirlpool spas, and a kiddie pool! At the main pool, you’ll also find elephant statues that spray water out of their trunks. These elephants perfectly compliment the carnival theme that the pool has.

Disney's Old Key West Resort

Enjoy a resort themed to the laid back and fun loving life that can be found in the Florida Keys. Step out onto the greens of Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, rent a bike or surrey bike for a pleasant ride, grab a pole and head out on a fishing excursion, dip your toes in one of their pools… No matter what your preferred style of relaxation is, Disney’s Old Key West has something for you. You can even lounge in one of their hammocks while you enjoy a cool breeze, delightful drink, swaying palm trees, warm sun, and doing absolutely nothing!

If you’d like to step out for a moment, Disney Springs is only a boat ride away with Disney’s Water Taxi service. Enjoy dining, shopping, entertainment, and nightlife before heading back to your paradise in the Keys.

Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

Not only do you have the option to stay in villas at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you can also stay in waterside bungalows! During your stay here, you’ll feel like you’re in the South Pacific. With the decor, architecture, cuisine, palm trees, and white sand beaches, you’ll be in your own island paradise.

At this resort, there’s fun for all ages. Enjoy motorized boat rentals and fishing on the Seven Seas Lagoon. You can also take part in Hula Lessons, a Lava Pool Party, and games! 

When it comes to dining, Disney’s Polynesian Resort has something for breakfast, lunch, dinner, tropical snacks, and bar services! For an exceptionally fun character breakfast, head to ‘Ohana. At this breakfast, you’ll be able to enjoy an all-you-care-to-enjoy family style breakfast with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto! Kona Cafe will prepare delicious sushi dishes right before your eyes in their open kitchen. Savory foods are also available such as their Big Kahuna Burger! When you’re ready to relax with some tropical drinks, you can go to Trader Sam’s or Tambu Lounge. If you’re looking to enjoy your drinks poolside, you can head to Oasis Bar and Grill or Barefoot Pool Bar. However, if you're looking for sweet simplicity, head over to Pineapple Lanai for some Dole Whip or a Pineapple Float!

Disney's Riviera Resort

The Riviera Resort is elegant, artistic, and full of European charms and inspiration. Like the other Deluxe Resorts, you’ll find Deluxe Studios and Villas. Riviera is special because they now offer Tower Studios which are specifically designed for 2 Guests or solo travelers. While these studios are smaller, they do still have a kitchenette area that includes a microwave and mini refrigerator that are built into the wall!

At the Riviera Resort, even their character breakfast exudes artistic theming. This character dining experience takes place at Topolino’s Terrace, Riviera’s rooftop restaurant. During your breakfast, you’ll be dining with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy. Mickey is dressed as a painter, Minnie is dressed as a poet, Donald is dressed as a sculptor, and Daisy is dressed as a dancer! The dining options here are also more sophisticated than the average breakfast offerings. Don’t worry though, there’s still something for everyone to enjoy!

Disney’s Riviera Resort has a great pool area. You can take a dip in the pool, plunge down the winding slide, or relax under one of the sun umbrellas. Little ones can enjoy the water play area, S’il Vous Play! This area includes fountains, a small slide, and fun characters from Disney’s Fantasia!

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort is modeled after the real Saratoga Springs in New York. Currently, Saratoga Springs, NY is a well known area for Thoroughbred Horse Racing. In Saratoga Springs, you’ll find the Saratoga Race Course, a museum that displays the rich history of horse racing, and Saratoga Spa State Park. The Spa State Park features mineral baths and a pool complex.

While Saratoga Springs, NY is still known for horse racing and spas, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort takes inspiration from Saratoga Springs in the 1800s. You’ll see many nods to horses and horse racing within the decor. Many Disney horses are even incorporated into the decor! Keep an eye out for Philippe from Beauty and the Beast, Angus from Brave, Maximus from Tangled, Samson from Sleeping Beauty, Bullseye from Toy Story, and more!

Located next to Lake Buena Vista, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a bass fishing excursion or to head over to the nearby Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. You can also enjoy the outdoors with a bike or surrey bike rental, playgrounds, jogging trails, basketball and tennis courts, a campfire, or movies under the stars!

Of course, you can also take advantage of the spa services offered here. Head over to Senses Spa for a day of relaxation and pampering. At the spa, you can enjoy services such as massage therapies, facial treatments, and body therapies and wraps. You can also enjoy time in the whirlpool, heated loungers, steam room, or relaxation room.

The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

You’ll vacation in absolute style and comfort when you stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This resort has easy access to Magic Kingdom via the monorail or a walking path! You also have the option to travel across the Seven Seas Lagoon on a water taxi. Since you’re so close to the park, don’t miss out on the opportunity to enjoy the fireworks show taking place at Cinderella’s Castle in the evening. You can catch this marvelous sight outside or even while you’re enjoying a meal at Narcoosee’s!

Narcoosee’s is just one of the fabulous dining options at the Grand Floridian. Narcoosee’s is a waterfront restaurant where you can enjoy delectable seafood dishes. At the resort you’ll also find locations with drinks, quick bites, character dining, and exquisite restaurants.

Character Dining is available at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast and dinner. Meals are prepared and served on a buffet. While characters are subject to change, you may see characters such as Aladdin, Cinderella, Mirabel, and Princess Tiana! (Currently this restaurant is closed. It will reopen on April 10th, 2024.) For one of the most luxurious dining experiences at Walt Disney World, take a seat at Victoria and Albert’s! This award-winning restaurant is beautifully decorated, provides exceptional service, and offers outstanding American cuisine as well as wine pairings.

For your spa treatment, you’ll visit The Grand Floridian Spa. In the dressing room, you’ll be provided with a robe and slippers to wear during your time of relaxation. At this spa, you’ll be able to receive services such as body treatments, massages, and manicures. There is also a relaxation room where you can sit back and relax. Light bites will be provided for you to enjoy in the relaxation room. Soothing music will also be playing to help calm your mind and body.

Disney Vacation Club

From this list of Disney World hotels with kitchens, many of them are Disney Vacation Club Resorts. Not familiar with Disney Vacation Club? Let’s do a quick run down. Disney Vacation Club, commonly referred to as DVC, is Disney’s version of a timeshare program. However, DVC is obviously more magical than standard timeshare programs!

Disney Vacation Club gives Guests the opportunity to visit Disney Destinations year after year in a more cost effective way. To become a member, you will purchase a real estate interest from Disney Vacation Club, via the timeshare. After that, you will start getting Vacation Points. The real estate interest that you purchase will be for a specific resort (of your choice) and be referred to as your Home Resort. Each year, you will receive a certain number of Vacation Points. These points can be used to book time at your Home Resort or other DVC Resorts. If you decide not to vacation, you won’t lose your points. They’ll simply roll over to next year and you can start accumulating them! You can use this accumulation of points for longer stays or resorts that take more points.

Which Disney World Hotels are DVC Resorts?

Almost all of the DVC Resorts at Walt Disney World are in the Deluxe Resort category. However, the newest DVC Resort is in the Moderate Resort category! Here is a complete list of which Walt Disney World Resort hotels are DVC Resorts.

You may be wondering if you can stay at one of these resorts without being a DVC Member. The answer is yes! If you're not ready to make the commitment of becoming a DVC Member, you are more than welcome to still book one of these resorts. However, booking stays at these resorts can become very expensive when you're not a DVC Member. Luckily, we have a solution!

Rent DVC Points

As I mentioned before, if a DVC Member doesn’t wish to vacation in a particular year, they can choose not to use their points. However, they don’t have to bank those points and roll them over to the next year. They also have the option to sell those points!

The points that they wish to sell would be placed on a DVC rental store site. This is where non-DVC Members have the opportunity to purchase those points (usually at a lower cost than what the DVC Member initially paid). This is a great way for non-DVC Members to stay at those DVC Resorts for an amazing price without fully committing to DVC.

How to Rent DVC Points

Renting DVC points is simple! You’ll first head to a DVC rental site. We highly recommend our partners at DVC Rental Store or David’s DVC Rental. Both of these companies are excellent choices for DVC point rental. When you head to these sites, you’ll be able to view the available listings of points that are being sold by DVC Members.

DVC Point Rental Process:

• Pick a Listing – Your first step of the process will be deciding which listing to purchase. This will be easiest if you have an idea of when you’d like to travel and which resort you’d like to stay at. After that’s been decided, you can browse the available listings that fit your wants and needs.
• Submit a Request – When you’ve found a listing that you’re interested in, you will then fill out and submit a request form for that listing. When you submit this form, you will pay a partial payment, or deposit, of the resort total.
• Fulfillment – If your request is able to be booked, you will receive a confirmation of your DVC Resort stay and you will then need to sign a rental agreement and make an additional payment. (The amount due at this time varies based on which DVC rental site you choose to use. More often than not, the full balance is due at the time of confirmation. However, sometimes, only a percentage is due. This is something to consider when deciding on which DVC rental site to use.) If your request was not able to be booked, you will have the opportunity to choose another listing. If there's not another one that you are interested in, you will receive your initial deposit back.
• After Confirmation – After you have a confirmed booking and you’ve made all of the necessary payments and signed the required documents, you will be able to treat your DVC Resort booking like a regular Disney World vacation! You’ll be able to enter and view your resort information on your My Disney Experience account. Afterwards, you'll have the opportunity to purchase theme park tickets, a dining plan, and Memory Maker!

Grocery Delivery

Now that you know which Disney World hotels have kitchens or kitchenettes, you’ll want to make sure that you have food to stock them with! If you’re driving to Walt Disney World, you’ll of course have the option to simply bring your own food with you. However, if you don’t want to travel with your food or you’re flying into Orlando, you’ll need another way to get food to your resort.

If you have your own vehicle with you or you're using a rental car, you could always go to a nearby grocery store and pick up some food. But let’s face it… When you’re on vacation, who wants to go grocery shopping? Especially when grocery delivery is an option! There are many companies who will deliver groceries directly to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel. Some of the most popular delivery services are provided by Amazon Fresh and Walmart.

The best part about grocery delivery at Disney World is that you don’t even have to be at your resort when the groceries arrive! Bell Services will accept and properly store your food until you’re available to pick them up. I had groceries delivered to my resort on my most recent trip to Walt Disney World and the process was so seamless. The food that I ordered from Walmart was delivered during the time I selected and Bell Services (at Port Orleans – Riverside) kindly kept my food for me until I returned back to the resort later in the day.
