Lightning Lane Multi Pass/Single Pass
In 2021, Disney introduced their new FastPass-like service through Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes. This change had already been extremely overwhelming for Disney fans who have grown accustomed to FastPass, but then another switch in 2024 replaced this with Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass.
This distinction has proven to be extremely confusing and frustrating for guests. Understanding these systems and knowing how to use them efficiently can be confusing and adds another layer of complexity to your trip.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a paid service that enables guests to join shorter lines for select popular rides at the parks, while Lightning Lane Single Pass (not included with Lightning Lane Multi Pass) allows you to purchase access to a shorter line for the most highly demanded rides at the parks, for each ride individually. While the service still works the same at Disneyland apart from the name change, there are some changes to how it works at Disney World. Now, guests can make ride reservations in advance of their trip at Disney World.
To avoid any confusion complicating your Disney experience, we recommend taking some time ahead of your trip to familiarize yourself with how the Lightning Lane Multi Pass/Single Pass system works for the resort you're visiting and learn how to use it.
Park Hopping
Disney offers the option to park hop, which allows you to visit more than one park in a single day. While this can add flexibility to your trip, it can also be complicated to coordinate transportation between parks and ensure you make the most of your time in each one.
There have also been limitations and changes to Park Hopping that may be confusing for some guests. The way park hopping works at the two resorts is different. As of January 2024, Disney World guests with a park hopper ticket can go between parks at any time of day after entering their first park. At Disneyland, guests must make a park reservation for the first park they plan on visiting with a park hopper ticket, then they can park hop starting at 11am (or enter either park if they have not entered a park by this time). Make sure you know what time park hopping starts at Disneyland to avoid any disruption in plans during your trip.
Overstimulation
Disney Parks are sensory overload in the best possible way, but this can also be overwhelming.
