Where to Buy Alcohol at Disneyland Park
While alcohol has been offered at Disney California Adventure since its opening in 2001, Disneyland Park has been much slower to offer guests drinks.
This can be traced back to the earliest days of the park—Walt Disney himself was quite adamant that Disneyland be alcohol-free: “No liquor, no beer, nothing.” He felt it would inspire trouble and rowdiness, and he wanted to keep the park a wholesome place where families could focus on the fun.
For members of Club 33, the extremely exclusive VIP lounge, Disneyland conceded to serving alcohol in the 1960s. But given the annual membership dues are up to $30,000 and the waitlist is up to 15 years long, it's safe to say that this was an incredibly controlled environment that could not spiral out of control in the way that Disney feared.
For the general public, even after multiple decades, Disneyland Park stayed dry until a few years ago in Spring of 2019. Now, alcohol at Disneyland is offered at two locations—keep reading to see which experiences are available and tips for buying alcohol at Disneyland!
Oga's Cantina at Galaxy's Edge
In 2019, Oga's Cantina opened at Galaxy's Edge, offering cocktails, wine, and beer. Even though this was modeled after the infamous Mos Eisley Cantina from the Star Wars films, it's certainly much more respectable, and there is a limit of 2 alcoholic drinks per guest. The cantina, always bustling with guests, features vibrant, colorful drinks with fun, Star-Wars inspired names like the “Bloody Rancor” and “Jedi Mind Trick.” It also offers snacks and non-alcoholic beverages as well, like the “Blue Bantha” and “Blurrgfire.”
Because this is one of the only locations you can find alcohol at Disneyland, advance reservations are highly recommended, as spots book up fast. You can make these on the Disneyland site or the Disneyland app, or you can also join a mobile walk-up list if you do not make reservations. The best time to avoid the crowds is earlier in the day or late at night (after 8pm).
Keep in mind that the cantina is primarily standing room in close proximity to to other guests, and large parties may be separated. For parties with younger kids, this might mean that the visit will be quick, and there is a limit of 45 minutes per visit.

If you don't mind the high prices, his is the ultimate resting spot to take a break from the chaos of the park. We do highly recommend making advance reservations, as Blue Bayou can book up to 60 days in advance.
